Obituary for Leo van den Tillaart

The family of Leo van den Tillaart, Sr. of Kingston, is saddened to announce his passing on Monday, May 23rd, 2022, 2 ½ months shy of his 95th birthday.
Loving and cherished husband, for nearly 70 years, of Mia van Hooft and father of Janie Verhoeven (Peter) and Leo Jr. (Barb). Proud Opa of Lyndsay (Bryce), Sarah (Mike), Katie (Joe), Holly (Jordan), Travis (Desiree), and Brittany (Travis). “Opa Tillaart” to 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Predeceased by 3 sisters and 2 brothers; Riek Doreleyers (Chris d.), Nellie vd Kerkhof (Leo d.) Jet vd Elzen (Jan d.), Jan vd Tillaart (Mien d.) & Frank vd Tillaart (Cathy), sister-in-law Tiny van Hooft (Jan d.), as well by his parents Leonardus & Lamberta (nee Zijlmans) van den Tillaart.
Survived by his sister in the Netherlands, Betsie Rovers (Martinus d.), brother-in-law Wim Koops (Joke d.). He will be fondly remembered as a dear uncle of many, many nieces and nephews both in the Netherlands and in Canada.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at KGH Davies 3 CSU for their kind, caring and compassionate support. Also, a big ‘Thank You’ to the PSW’s from Care Partners.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at 11am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 392 Palace Rd, Kingston, followed by a reception at the church hall. Donations in memory of Leo may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (Building Fund).
