Obituary of George Brian Neeson

George Neeson of Brockville, Ontario went home to be with the Lord on January 29, at the age of 85. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Eunice (nee Ewart). He was the beloved father of Sandy, Ian, and Carolyn (Scott), loving grandfather of Allison (Josh), William, Levi, and Chelsea, and great-grandfather of Oscar. He is survived by his brothers, Paul and Murray (Rose Marie), as well as several nieces and nephews.

George was born in Toronto. He worked as a family doctor in Brampton for a number of years before moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta to work as the medical director for Syncrude. In 1982, George moved with his family to Brockville, Ontario to open a family medicine practice.

In the mid-1990s, George left family medicine and trained as an Adlerian psychotherapist. He was passionate about his work as a therapist and continued this work well into his eighties.

George had many interests and hobbies. He was an accomplished photographer and poet, and he enjoyed playing golf.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dempsey and Margaret, and his son Stephen.

George's family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Rosedale Retirement Home, and the palliative care team at the Brockville General Hospital.
