He also leaves behind his siblings Bernard Latimer (Shirley), Faye Jones, Michelle Morgan (Nathan), Tammy Latimer-Carren (Chris), Tracey Latimer (Dan), Richard Latimer, Donnie Latimer, Brian Latimer (Nikki), Larry Latimer and several nieces and nephews.
Gerry was predeceased by his parents Marguerite (McCune) and Bernard Latimer, sisters Bonnie, Sylvia, Evelena and brother William.
Gerry was born and raised in Brockville. He enjoyed camping, spending time with family, maintaining old friendships and developing new ones. Gerry was a long time seasonal camper at Lucky Loon Campground on Graham Lake. He was always the life of the party and known by many as "Geronimo". Gerry loved music, was always playing his harmonica or guitar around the campfire and could often be heard singing “Day-O’ through the campground. Gerry was generous and always thought of others before himself. Every child knew where to get a popsicle and every dog where to get a treat. Gerry was a diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs with an incredible (and often naughty) sense of humour. He had a hat for every occasion. He loved and was loved and will never be forgotten.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wellington House in Prescott for the compassionate care Gerry received. A Celebration of Gerry’s Life will be held at The Brockville Legion, Branch 96, 180 Park St., Brockville on Sunday, July 17th 1-4pm; 1pm-2pm A Trip Down Memory Lane; Stories, Tribute & Toast in Gerry’s honour
2pm-4pm Live Music, Food and Socializing in memory of Gerry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario SPCA, Brockville (Leeds & Grenville) Branch #510 would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
