Obituary for Benjamin Hilliard Tubman

On November 9, 2023, Benjamin Hilliard Tubman was called home to be with the Lord. At 71 years old, he passed away peacefully of natural causes. He was born in Shawville, Quebec, July 21,1952.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Suzanne Yvette Tubman, by his sister-in-law Dianne Tubman (late Darrell Tubman) & family, by his brother Clifford (Donnalda) Tubman, & Neil (Nancy) Tubman.

He was predeceased by his parents Ennis Payne Tubman (1916-1986) & Lillian Russell Tubman (1913-1997) of Shawville, Quebec, his brothers George Bruce Tubman (1945-1946) of Shawville, Quebec; Darrell Tubman (1942-2011 ) of Pembroke, Ontario; Lorne Tubman (1944-2022) of Winnipeg, Manitoba & his niece, Pamela Ann Tubman (1972-2019) of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He leaves behind five beautiful grandchildren; Amelie, Katrina, Sabrina, Danica & Matteo.

As well, Ben was dearly loved by his immediate & extended family.

Ben was a retired member of the United Association of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union, Local #800, in Sudbury, Ontario. Ben contributed greatly & was well respected by the members of Local #800 where he also served on the board of trustees for 10 years.

Along with his appreciation for natural scenic beauty, Ben was blessed to fulfill a "dream of a lifetime" to travel. Along with his wife Suzanne, they were left with cherished memories of their countless & amazing experiences. The majestic "General Sherman" tree in Sequoia National Park, whale encounters in Maui, the beautiful wonders of Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico & of Yellowstone National Park, the breathtaking views & wildlife of Banff National Park, California's stunning coastline to a safari in South Africa, are only a few of many that captivated Ben.

Respecting Ben's wishes, a private cremation burial will be held at a later date.
